Kilt Hire Process

Customer often ask us when the best time is to come in store and make the necessary arrangements for their big day. Sometimes they don’t ask and turn up at the store the week before they need the hire and depending on the time of year, they sometimes don’t get their first choice due to lack of availability.

In order to help we have devised this guide to provide you with all the information you need to ensure you and your party are in store in plenty of time.

Step 1 - Choose the Outfit

We recommend no later than 16 weeks before your event. Book an appointment in store and bring along the decision makers to help you choose the perfect outfit. The team in store will help you try on certain colours and styles and once you are happy will start to enter your order details into our system. At this stage we are not looking for any sizes or payment, we are just building your order in the system ready for the fitting appointments closer to the date. To get the most from this appointment we recommend visiting from October to March as this is usually the quietest time with lots of stock available to try on.

Step 2 – Measurements

Step 2 – Measurements

We ask that all your party book in for sizing at least 12 weeks before the event. They don’t all need to visit together, and they are free to visit any of our stores if its more convenient for them. As we manufacture most of the large items ourselves, we guarantee to supply your party with your choice as long as you stick to these timeframes. For children we also schedule a measure review 4 weeks before the event. If you have guest from overseas, we will guide you through what we need. At this stage we will be looking for a small deposit per wearer to secure your order.

Step 3 - Collection and Try On

When we enter your order, we will usually schedule collection 4-5 days before your event. If possible, we would like you and your party to try the outfits on in store so we can check everything fits correctly. If this isn’t possible, we do ask that outfits are tried as soon as possible to confirm the fit is correct. At collection the final balance is due. At this time, we also require proof of ID and address and our security bond.

Step 4 - Return

Step 4 - Return

We do ask that hires are returned on the Monday or Tuesday after your events. This enables us to clean all the garments in time for the next hire. Prompt returns are appreciated as delays can cause issues for later hire parties.

Step 5 - Feedback

We love what we do and want the hire experience to be as stress free as possible. Please feedback to our team your experiences so we can continue to improve the service we provide.
